Prior
to starting the The Navigator Club in 2008, Ed served as a sales
manager and yacht broker at two local Grady-White dealerships where
he often led his colleagues in gross sales, and more importantly,
in customer satisfaction. When not managing the club, Ed can be
found at the helm of a 60 foot yacht that he captains between
Maine and Florida.
Before entering the marine industry, Ed worked in marketing and
public relations, including six years in the corporate marketing
offices of Putnam Investments. At Putnam, Ed was responsible for
developing and implementing marketing plans for well known 401(k)
and pension plan clients such as PING Golf, Hyperion Systems and
Johnson Controls.
Ed grew up boating and fishing along the Long Island Sound.
He was graduated from The Canterbury School in New Milford, CT and
later received a B.A. in Marketing from Hartwick College. Ed holds
a United States Coast Guard - Masters 50 ton license with a commercial
towing endorsement.
Captain Paul Croteau, Director of Training
When
not training members of the club, Paul works as an Environmental
Police Officer with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Since 1980,
Paul has been educating boaters on boating safety as well as enforcing
state fish and game laws. He has worked all along the Massachusetts
coast, including Boston, Cape Cod and the Islands.
Throughout his career, Paul has received extensive boating safety
education and boat operation training at the United States Coast
Guard Training Center in Yorktown, Virginia and also at the Federal
Law Enforcement Training Center in Georgia. Paul holds a United
States Coast Guard Masters 100 Ton license and has also been a certified
boating safety instructor since 1998.
Paul grew up in Newburyport, MA boating on the Merrimack River.
He is married with three children and two, twin grandsons. Paul
looks forward to sharing his knowledge with members of The Navigator
Club and helping them gain the confidence needed for a fun and safe
boating experience.
Chris Haight, Dockmaster
Chris
Haight, is a junior, Polyscience major at Boston College,
a native of Beverly Farms, MA and has been a dockmaster with the
club since 2009. Chris has been boating his entire life and has
a wealth of information to share with club members. In his free
time, Chris enjoys skiing, talking about exotic cars and
zooming around the North Shore in his Zodiac Pro rigid
inflatable boat.
